Someone here must surely remember John Hychko's Deuce 5W coupe, with its wildly raked body-channel and '57 Merc tail lights mounted high and outboard on the rear of the roof? o_O

Yes I do! To me, the way these two cars have treated the fins changes the from a tacked on look to a more integrated part of the design. That said, I like the taillights on the Fury a little better.

  19. I saw this 57 Chevy back in about 2010, before this car I never looked to 57's as good custom material, but I really like the tail light treatment and the use of the desoto bumper up front. I just always though it need some kind of side trim on the blank sides.

  22. I like the 59 Caddy's molded in. Kinda makes it look like a factory Cadillac

  29. I, like many of you probably spend too much time watching television. Our living room TV is on almost all of the time, mostly just for background noise. At least it's mostly "traditional" TV as I pretty much only watch old shows from the 80s back.
Not too long ago I started watching "T.J. Hooker" at the 8:00 hour here in the evenings on weeknights. In the early seasons of the show, Hooker and his wife split up and he got his own place. When he was at his new little apartment, they would show the Safari Inn sign as this is where his new bachelor pad was. When I saw it on TV, I did a Google search and found out it was built in 1955. It's still up and running in Burbank and is somewhat of a tourist attraction. Looks like it would be a neat place to check out, although the area might be a little sketchy these days. Just a little useless trivia for all you custom folks who also like old TV shows.
Now, back to our regularly scheduled programming (lol)..........E

Very Kool! I've seen it few times on Hot Rod videos but never on a TV show.
