Agree. The Vic is beautiful. Great vision.

  5. Fantastic Vicky!! What are the front fender lips?

  6. Man, this thread is moving fast lately....kool! I'm away a couple of days and I'm already too far behind to stay in the conversation. LOL

Hard to remember what I have posted in this thread, so I think I've dug into a folder that I haven't done yet: Suede Palace, Sacramento Autorama, 2009.

Ok, school me Dr on those headlights/visors on that green chebby? They don't look like any "one thing".

  9. Gonmad, I don't know any of the specifics but the car belongs to Jack Rudy of the Beatniks. I will ask Jeff and see if he knows anything about it.

  10. I haven't heard back but I am going to take a wild guess. The more I look at them, I think they may be molded 1955 Buick.

  11. Jimmy, I was gonna guess handmade full custom, but fortunately Sancho got to it first and saved me the embarrassment of being dead wrong. :) I'd have to say that '55 Buick looks dead on it.

Thanks guys! I can't remember where I saw it, but I'm pretty sure I have somewhere; Salina, LSR or somewhere? I don't remember ever noticing them tho. I thought that they resembled the buicks, but maybe the paint instead of the trim threw me off or something.

I think that 57 ford is Terry Dunham"s. That picture must have been in California in the 80's. That our 34 Dodge panel in the corner.

Yuk, Lol!! That was back when it was purple, four door'd, late model dash and those ugly front fenders. Where are the white walls? Good times... Thanks for posting the pic going to have to add it to my library....

Very Kool, wish that I would have been there...

  26. I took that one myself. :) Found it looking through some of my old photos. Would have been the Last Run in Ark City; either late 90's or 2000. Small world my friend!

  27. You've done a great job with your Merc, straycat. She's come a long way. It's kool that it's still around with a much improved, traditional look. Does it still have the "straycat" pinstriped on the trunk? I know I have a picture of it somewhere. I remember spending a good 10 minutes looking at the art work at what I think was the 20th Leadsled in Wichita back in 2000.

Makes you wonder how many old "mauled Mercs" weren't so lucky and met with a sad end at the shredder. Brings a tear to the eye.............E

Thanks for the kind words. Even though my Merc looked like hell it was a great driver. Sometimes its easier to fix looks over the way a kustom drives down the road. It's been a twenty year process but we are getting there... For now the Merc doesn't have the Stray Kat pinstriped on the trunk deck. That will change in a month or two, the Merc will be going back to Satin black for a while until it is time for shinny paint....
