An outstanding feature of this Balie-built Ford is the flush-fit trim throughout. (Look closely!)

Anyone know the owner of this one?
Picture #2 could be a clue to the answer. 20190412_215511.jpeg 20190412_215437.jpeg

  10. Cool plaque!!! I didn’t belong to the club, but went to a few of the shows in Kenosha in the 80’s. Maybe I have a picture of your car, which come was it?

I guess this thread was kind of dumb place to ask if anyone knows the name of the owner of the kustom car and then have a dragster for a clue.
It's a Woody Gilmore front engine dragster chassis.

This documented Barris-built '47 Merc (Circa 1960) surfaced lately.
There are enough similarities to believe it may be the same car (or a cousin.)

I seriously doubt this is the same car. The black and white photo is a '42 Mercury, while the color photo one is a '46-48 Mercury.

The Color photo custom has been for sale for many years with the owner(s) trying to sell it as a Barris Custom created Circa 1960... which is an very unlike story as well. Who would want to have an late 40's styled Custom with padded top done by the famous Barris Shop around 1960? Both cars are looking really good, but So far I have not seen any evidence of the maroon Merc being an actual Barris Custom... other than the Barris Crest replica on the the front fender.
