The 57 Buick was owned by Joe Krummel out of Michigan when the pic was taken. He also had a modern version of a chopped 60 Chevy with a carson type top. Dark blue in color. It was featured in Custom Rodder.

  2. Yeah it's strange that it hasn't been seen in years...I was amazed at the roof line on it and the paint work was amazing.

That crown coupe is the former "Lil Beaver". LiL Beaver- Merv Colver 64-65 ICAS Champ.jpg Loved the little beaver...

Crown Coupe ? Not so much. The workmanship is nice... The design is lacking. None the less I'd gladly park it in my garage.

In looking at the picture in post #1269 and then the front end shot in post #1268, I have to ask if the front end was done to garner ISCA points? I've been away from the custom car action for far to long. However it seems to me that points were awarded for the number of modifications rather than the overall design. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Here are some pics that I took a while back. Remember at Hangin Dice when Dave Guymon
drove up trailering this wild Ford. It was just too kool.

Took this picture at the Merc Deuce Reunion.

That one was owned by Lanny Pierson of Littleton, ColoRODo. He found it up in Longmont or Loveland IF I remember correctly...he had it painted purple, drove it for a couple of years and then sold ti to someone in California... it's still around, see it in pictures every once in a while...

Merv Colver built the lil beaver to my recollection. It even went through a second iteration before the crown coupe. At some point ownership transferred to Tom Myhre (sp) He may still be the current owner. as I recall, all THREE versions were ISCA show winners.. Maybe someone can clear this up a bit as I'm an old guy and the memory gets short when most of the sand is in the bottom of your hourglass.

Crown Coupe -Tom Myre 68-69 ICAS +++++++.jpg

Zowie! I found the photo of the first set of changes to the "lil Beaver"! This was also called the "Crown Coupe" At this point apparently the car had already changed hands from Colver to Myre. Maybe Moriarity can fill us in on the current owner. In any form it's a car I've wanted since I was a kid in the 60's... I'd still love to see it in my garage.

  20. I remember that year. I could have sworn I took pics of it on that very same trailer, but I can not find them. I do have a pic of it from '95 at Darryl Starbird's first Hall of Fame show at his then new museum.

Sure enjoying all the old pics from Gary's collection Mickey, thanks for taking the time to scan and share them!

The main reason that I love Kustoms is it stretches the imagination. They're all works
of art. Check out Rob Idas's new build, he is getting ready for SEMA. I cant wait to
    see more pics.

  27. Gift from my old Buddy Gator.....this hung in his Detroit Rod and Kustom shrine...Gator striped the frame at his desk for the heck of it...He used to hang out at this shop as a youngster....Bill also painted Gators Bat tribute pedal car on one of his annual back to Detroit trips in the Riv...
He also had a really nice personalized pic from the A Bros with one of their first business cards....man I miss him..
