I generally keep my likes and dislikes to my self on this thread. However, this truck is outstanding!

  17. I don't think that second photo is the Matador. It doesn't appear sectioned, hood sides are a lot taller.
It has Lincoln bezels and the front fenders ahead of the wheelwell don't roll under as the Matador does.
The area between the headlights and the grill is different between the two, as is the area under the grill.

I didn't care too much for the hood, that is why I didn't post the picture. I'd make a wall hanger out of the hood. The truck is way to kool to run the existing hood or the clock. I love the tailgate.

I'd like to see more information about that third photo in loudbang's post, the El Matador imitator!
El Matador's design is like a ballet of decisions that nimbly avert the inevitable disaster of trying to dramatically re-style a '40. I respect the skills and chutzpah of the builder of the second example, but it's like he went through the same motions, swung and missed. People like to rag on eccentric kustoms, but I'm always fascinated to examine what makes 'em the way they are...and what small changes might "save" the original idea. A reverse google search gets me nothing, nada, zip, which is disappointing.

  21. I have searched and searched also. Like you @Spex84, I wanted to know more about it.
I was hoping to find additional photos of the rear or at least a side profile. I am very curious to see how the car looks overall.....

A bit of trivia (from a Cushenbery interview)...
"El Matador" is actually... get this... a '39 Ford!
He just thought " '40 Ford" sounded better!
