Features Kustoms blues? I need to see some kustoms....

That coupe is very kool.

 

Many well known customizers worked on this 56 Merc including Donn Lowe
and Mark Wojcik but the icing on the cake was the chopped tip by Bob Nitti!

This next group brings up the question: Do you think there was ever a moment when the owners/builder's of some of these over the top Creation's said to them selves " What the hell was I thinking "? Nevertheless a lot of time , work and money went into them but ...WOW...

Those are Cars built in a One car garage with One light bulb. When they were rolled outside the first time all they could say was Ooop's!

Glad you posted this one. This is the "Cherry Dream" El Camino we were talking about awhile back in the "What Ever Happened To" thread. It was for sale not too long ago.

 

I tried flipping some pages going back into the later 70's didn't find much far as kustoms maybe a old one that was still being passed around ...the early 80's started seeing a few more showing up ..some older ones that guys were finding and bringing back along with some new builds following the looks of the early cars some good some not so ,some guys trying to put every kustom modification known on one car.... Mid to late 80's mixed bag bringing more old ones back more new stuff ,nicer cars,some pushing boundaries both Kool some ???able...then the 90's getting better yet then the Billet and pastels ,paint, most kustoms stayed away but some didn't... until later when cars changed owners or just up dated since then it's been getting better and better new things being tastefully done ,more personalized modifications to the point that a lot of the cars could be classified as fine works of art....all in all its been a great ride and with the new guys ,and us older one's included, keeping the Kool Kustoms Kraze going is just KOOL.....so the group of pics is a mixed bag of the trip I just took ....
