Features Kustoms blues? I need to see some kustoms....

HAMB'er Kripfink was working on a Zupan inspired grille for his beautiful '54 panel, but he hasn't posted in ages.
Too bad. I'd sure like to see how it came out.

 

Yeah Mo, I remember Kripfink's post about doing that grille treatment to his panel. Matter of fact, the picture of the Zupan grille I posted here was from his thread.

I've missed Kripfink's posts. He always had geat kustom insight. Maybe one day he'll pop back in. Way too many good people on the HAMB are too scarce around here nowadays.

By the way, liked your very subtle Svengoolie reference in post #488. He's corny, but I have to admit I'm a fan of his old style humor and great old "horror" movies..........E

My personal recollections of this old East Coast custom go back some 50 years. Originally built in 1951 by Slick Patterson,
it was recently restored by hot rod historian Roddy Moore.
That unusual color was original to a 1951 Kaiser Frazer.

 

An all time favorite. The Buster Litton Panoramic Ford.

LOL Mostly I take detail shots because I'm not a very creative thinker and it makes it easier to copy someone else's idea. Of course, the problem becomes when it's time for a project, I often jump in feet first and forget to check my reference photos. Then, I come across some later and think, "hmmm, wish I would have remembered to look for that before I did xyz...that would have been helpful." LOL

I took zillions of pics at that show in Sacramento at the Merc gathering for reference. You can tell one thing on my mind was the shape of frenched 52/54 headlight rings. Sooo many people weld the things on there and don't blend them into the fender well. For example, look at the difference between the flow of the headlight into the fender on the Hirohata vs Paul Bragg's convertible. Paul did much nicer job.
