That Chevy grille also has the ribbed panels below the little end spears eliminated (which is a bit more work than just cutting it off, because there'd be a gap left) and also they must have welded up the original teeth holes on the bar and redrilled to get 5 teeth that are evenly spaced like that. They also cut and bent the surround and the bar to give it a peak in the center to match the Mercury grille, the Chevy surround doesn't have a peak. It also looks like they took a bit of height out of the grille opening, judging by the distance from the top and bottom of the parking light housings. Someone spent a ton of time and effort, and planning, to get that Chevy grille in there so cleanly. That is far, far from a bolt-on type job.
