    Did you build that?
Is it only chopped in the front?
    Looks killer!

  10. This Ford panel truck was built by Rick Murray here in Denver a number of years back. The first version was a brown suede, with the later being the blue. When Rick was building this Ford, my old Chevy truck was in his shop getting bagged. Since I was at the shop quite a bit during that time, I saw it come together. Once the top was cut off, Rick had his upholstery guy working on a Carson style top framework for it. The framework they built was awesome, looking like a pickup with a top that covered over the top of the cab sweeping back covering the rear "bed" area of the panel. After many hours of work building the framework, Rick scrapped the Carson top idea so he could put all the seats in the rear to give the whole crew the open air cruising experience. It's really too bad the top was never used because it was so different and cool looking. I'll never forget the day I went out back where the scrap pile was and saw that cool top framework thrown out there all broken up. What a lot of lost time! I wish I would have taken a few pictures of the panel with that top framework on it. It was something like I've never seen anywhere. Rick always comes up with some unique ideas.
Here's a picture of the rear of the panel that I took in 2014 at the Denver Budweiser Lowrider Show.

Incidentally, the Chrysler grille in the panel was one I sold Rick. One day I went by the shop and I had it in the back of my truck. Rick said he was looking for one and he made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I kick myself for selling it as it was the very hard to find '62 Chrysler grille without the "Chrysler" lettering that the more plentiful '61 grille had.

This is another Denver car that we see at local shows from time to time. Pictures don't do it justice as it is a really nice car. I remember seeing it with the four bar flippers on it, but not long after it got changed up with the wire wheels and skirts.
Here's a few pictures I took of it at the Viejitos Lowrider Show out at Adams County Fairgrounds in the summer of 2018. Lots of great detail and popular lowrider features.

    IMG_6571.JPG

What I mean by typical lowrider features are things like engraving. Check out the bumper wingtips, bumper guards and fold down center bumper guard. I don't know if any of you out there have ever had anything done like this, but it gets expensive fast!

The last picture I'll post of this sweet Fleet is a rear shot showing the pinstriping and silver leaf work. I've always loved when people put names or sayings on their cars, and this one is one of the coolest I've seen in a long time--"Soy Como Soy". Loosely translated from Spanish to English, it means "It is what it is"..........E

  25. The historic Vickers station in Haysville, Kansas. It has been "restored". It was indeed an actual station but no longer in service. Popular photo op in the area and is now home to the Haysville Chamber of Commerce.
