    Normaly in the head, there is a long tube who drive water to refresh valves seats.....normaly, in this hole....mine has completely disapearred.....

    Just finding time to look at this thread, in a long while. Wow, that engine is in need of serious attention. Don't let it get you down, my Olds Rocket engine water jackets looked worse. So glad I took the engine ALL apart, before trying to drive it.

    Hello guys :)

    About questions....well, yes water must travel in the block, but all water holes are blocked. Paper Towels with Ratatouille name is a pure hazard! About new laws from restricted cars from 1997, that sucks!...Europe is burning:confused:. Too much laws, no more fun, we are definitly not "the land of freedom"!!!!

    Anyway, the most important is THE FREGATE:cool::cool:

    The block is clean.....i have use a small 12v oil vacuum pump to clean water area....it's not easy to do, not fast, but the result is ok.

    I think it's gonna be allright. I'm waiting gasket kit.....in few days.....:mad:

    Do those cylinder liners have gaskets on the bottom to adjust deck height ? Like renault 4 and 5 cylinder liners ?
    Because if yes, they are a great source of leaking and cylinder head leaks,
    It took me a bit of time to figure it out when i had a 4L.

    Today, it's the real summer, 86° outside, the perfect condition to my pikes peak test:cool:

    after 30 minutes in hardcore condition, the temp never go up to 85°C (French degree, 185° for you guys ;-))....the normal temp.....Yes, i'm happy, the engine sounds great, no leak, everything is ok, in one shot, cool:):):):):)[​IMG]
