Hello again, the night was short, you make my day, thanks again for your anthusiasm, i really appriciate your great communication and respect about my person, my location, and my car. Thanks (my language is not enought good to translate all my feeling and enjoyment, your are, all of you here, great persons). Sorry about my pic host, but be sure that all my pictures stay here ad libitum, hosting with the app doesn't work with my computer (don't know why....).

Let's continue the story. Snow melts....

I really like this......I know you have done the chop....but before you go any further is there maybe a chance that you could use the rear screen as your front screen?

The general condition appears to be good, but all the body and the sub frame was completly rotten. This kind of car is call "Auto Porteuse", it's the word when the body and the frame is all in one. A big shit to rebuild.
Iknow for the back seat, but i never trust that rat's eat metal too....damned look the frame!!, where is it?, i like the rat style, but not for my car, a lot of work in preparation.....

No chance Mrquickwip, all is round and curve, and i have deceided to fit polycarbonate windshield (Margrar, a kind of Makrolon), and in France there is not enought possibility to find a lot of parts that can fit to my car. French Junkyard is not like USA or other big country, all old cars are destroy to recycle metal about 20 years ago. It's an ecologique decision, it's ok, someone save the earth, me, i save my car ;-)

  10. Proof positive that a determined man can pursue & accomplish his dream regardless of his lack of tools or a roof over his head.

As a kid I worked on all my cars in the yard but never to he extent that has been shown in this thread.

A tip of the hat to you sir! HRP

I wasn't sure what to expect by the title, but great story. With a positive attitude you will go far. I also think that it looks like a old chevy. My dad had a 51 4 door and that is the first car I thought of. Keep up the good work.

Thank you mcmopar, i think that Renault in 1951 have been completly inspired by 1949 Chevrolet (can i say, "stole the line").....

I think you nailed the look of the old custom, and yes it does look like an old Chevy at 2/3 scale.

  17. Salutation !! Hey dude, great sense of humor.....dunno' if that was intentional or not....but you had me laughing several times in this thread. Great work......especially the "knee brake" for your sheetmetal forming. That's hot rodding brother. Weld away please. English is perfect enough.

Laughing together kidcampbell, thanks, life is a big aventure, we are here to have a good time all of us.

So the front Renault is not my "cup of teeee", i prefered a big fat parts, like 51 Buick, but the size is not the same, brain storming....and maybe is one of you that sell me on ebay some cool parts....

    Adaptation.....

At this point, i see what a lot of time i must pass on the car to do something really clean, my job is too fast, in bad condition, and it will be dificult and hard to have a great body result.....not a show car, but not a crap...i must drink something......i take off all the paint and filler, to protect my car for the winter, phosphate primer.

In America, we call this "Uni-Body" construction.
You have built a great looking car, in any language!

Of course i want a V8, but the gasoline is too expensive in France, and the speed limite law is like a running man, so the 4 cylinders stay in the car.....remove, rebuilt and paint....
