Wow I love the look of this. I would sooooo like to do this on my dash, with the lace effect. Does anyone know if this comes in a brown or beige color? If so that would be perfect..Do you think a newbie that has never painted before can achieve this look?

im talking about any candy mixed with a inner-coat clear and shot over the silver flake will make it a brown flake. if its too light of a brown at first you can add more coats of candy until you get your desired color

just to let people know ive found this at hobby lobby too. Lotsa different colors. When you shoot in short bursts the valve seems to stick let out pressure and bubble other then that stuff is great

... but ya know, in hindsight, not the best way to paint the entire roof of a car.

Looks good? What type of monitor do you use? I think I need a magnifying glass to see 'em.

20/20 vision :) does wonders with small pictures, i was really referring to the color contrast, larger pictures will show how well it sprayed on a larger surface but I think the color looks good on the black and how it breaks up the car

About 14 cans, and it's halfway done, and blotchy in some spots. REALLY impractical, and believe it or not, more expensive than if I would had just gone out and bought clear, flake, and a bigger tip for my regular spray rig. But GREAT for small stuff.

I'll post some bigger pictures in a bit. This other computer seems to have a real issue with uploading for some reason.

I think I'm going to just go ahead and get some real flake. But it was a fun $100 experiment.

Now that most of the roof is painted, I'm really turning back. I'm not sure if the car will be able to pull this car off, and look good. But I'm in the midst of putting in a 350, MII IFS, parallel leafs in the rear. So I'm just messing around until then!

To make it look like it wasn't rattle canned. It would probably take about 20 more cans. Those little cans just weren't made to cover such a huge area, evenly.

Oh yeah, for rattle can, it's amazing. Although, it's kind of odd to spray, you get used to it. I think it was mentioned earlier, but they do clog. But that is solved my taking off the top and putting it back on. And it is by no means a clean job! I made the mistake of not wearing gloves. The clear on my hand attracted every molecule of dirt and glitter that it possibly could. But the fact that it's really hard to get off my hands is a good sign!

And the little specks of glitter are EVERWHERE!... oh yeah, and this was done in the wind. I always manage to paint in the best conditions :D

hey guys, i just did a test shoot on a piece of guitar equipment. i could NOT get it to stop running. im fairly crafty with a rattle can too, ive painted the roof and rockers on both daily drivers and had great results with rattle cans. but i cant keep this shit from running lol. i didnt lay a base coat though. im assuming thats the issue. any ideas
