Technical Knob ID?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by rustynewyorker, Apr 30, 2018.

  1. Maybe have better luck with an ID for these shift knobs, two of them were in a can in a washtub full of parts I bought. Looks like they're for a column shift lever. Lyon aftermarket maybe? Not Imperial, doesn't appear to be Crown Vic. Maybe they're later, size-wise they could fit most anything up into the 80s, but being clear I would think they're no newer than late 60s. Threads are fairly small but it's been a while since I took a knob off to know if these are very different.

    Kitchen or bathroom faucet knob?

  3. Sure not a faucet knob, never saw one shaped exactly like a column shifter knob.

    For a beer tap perhaps?

  5. Could very well be a faucet knob, off one of those single lever faucets. Late '50s, early '60s would be my guess...

The plastic shift knobs were almost always pressed or molded on, I don't recall seeing many that threaded on.

  6. I've spun off threaded ones.
