This show just never lets ya down - what a great gathering of kustom cars, hot rods, and cool people! I was lucky enough to hang out with some good friends throughout the weekend, as well as meet some new ones, something I enjoy very much. Like we always say - It's just as much (if not more!) about the people as it is the cars. When I get home and look back through my photos, I never get as many as I would have liked to. I guess I just spend too much time chatting and hanging out Oh well... Our Friday morning started out with a tour of a very cool shop and barn/parts collection. After that we took a nice guided tour of the Speedway Museum. HAMB member, Jess, set this all up for us and we appreciate it very much! I do have photos of those tours, but you are going to have to wait for another thread to see those. Well, enough of my rambling. Lets get to the photos! What a great way to start the weekend - Airport Drags! I embarassed myself and smoked my clutch since I swapped in a 5-speed, I definitely need to change the 3.00 gears to 3.70s! Hot-rod Roadster (Gary) kicked my ass in his cool Chevy wagon Uncle John & Gary lining up - John's car is quick! We went to look for a place to eat after the drags. What's with all the restaurants closing early in Salina?! A little fun and dancing while we were figuring out where to eat Malcolm
Saturday show: The legendary Bill Hines chopping a Merc Most of the rest of my photos are of cars - Enjoy! T&A Flathead's coupe - cool Part of the Omaha crew Loved this wagon!
Hub Harness (I believe) Late Saturday night fun - hanging out at the hotel Interesting wedding party attire Well, that's all I have for photos this time. I'll try to get more on the next trip. That shouldn't be a problem - Bonneville & HAMB Drags, here we come! Malcolm
Great pictures! I was planning on being there, had a room and everything. Instead, I put some color on the '39. Probably see you at the Drags, and I look forward to talking with you there. Thanks again for the photo's. J.
Lucky for me you smoked the clutch, or I'd probably be telling everyone you kicked my ass. It was a great weekend no matter how you look at it. Nice pic's, See Ya, Gary
I look forward to meeting you at the Drags - see ya there! It was good to finally meet you! Yes, it WAS a great weekend! It went by way too fast.... unlike me racing you
'54 Ford Glasstop, belongs to Gordy Brown out of (small town north of) SLC, Utah, grille bar is hand-made, primer spots tinted to make it look like it was done back in the late 50's/early '60's. Gordy has a bunch of car, but this one is his fave. Malcom, good to see you again...I wondered what you did (or happened) there at the drags... R-
Hey Malcom, Again it was nice to meet ya. I've enjoyed watching your progress with your mild Kustom. You don't have to have a mega dollar car to be Kool. keep up the good work. Did anyone get a picture of Gordy Brown's '54 Ford Glasstop and Vaughn's '54 at the host hotel. they were parked side by side and it was a kool photo op. Thanks for posting your pics...... Happy Trails, Mick
Great to see you again, Jay! Always a good time hanging out with you and BSing. Thanks for lining up dinner on Saturday night, too! I gotta give Jeff a call right now to make sure he gets his coupe together for Joplin!!
Always a good time with Megan and Denise! See ya in Joplin, Catherine! Dig it! haha... Thanks again for the tours, Jess! I also liked that '32 5-window, very cool car.
