Technical Kinmont Brakes at the LARS

    I posted some photos elsewhere but I thought I would start a thread on these new brakes being offered by the Hot Rod Brake Co. Walden Speed Shop had them in their booth and generated lots of attention. The same person who offered the Functional Fakes (Buick drums) is now offering these great looking brakes. I don't know the price but presume they will be in line with the JHRS units. I am aware these are not original but you gotta admit they look nice in the as cast finish.

    The fronts are available as noted in the above photo.

    The rears are for the 2.50 axle offset 9" rear housing.

    Here are the rear units for a 9" rear housing. They come with or without an emergency brake.

    Here is the outer drum for the rears.

    The fronts have a different look than JHRS units.

    I saw them too and thought they were a very impressive reproduction. Hat is off to the guy for taking the time to reproduce them. They are not for everyone, neither were the originals back in the day. No sense complaining about the cost of them, I'd like to see some cars with them. Bob

    I agree they are nice looking, the original backing plate is quite different though.
