    Hey guys,

So. I'll be using 47 ford passenger car spindles and a 34 passenger car front axle.
Which kingping sets should I order ? Specific for 47 spindles or for the 34 axle ?
Are speedways kits any good or should I lookup for OEM NOS kits ?

    Thanks for any help

Use the kingpin that matches the spindle.

I usually try to buy the best kingpins and tie rod ends I can find. I have used cheap Speedway rod ends and had to replace them in a couple thousand miles.

    I don’t know about availability in Argentina but I’d recommend Moog p/n 8350 B.

Get your 46-48 Kingpins from Pete & Jake's

  5. You would only use 34 pins if you were staying with early mechanical brakes.

Do you have any kingpins now? If you do, they should all be the same diameter, so set one in the axle. See if it wiggles around in the axle. If it does, the axle is worn in the bore. It will either need to be shrunk with heat and a hammer, then re-reamed, or bored for a larger kingpin.

When I say ream, I mean an actual fluted reamer, not some flexible stone wheel cylinder hone. Same tool as should be used for the bushings in the spindle. And when used in the bushings it should have the pilot end installed so they stay concentric. This is VERY important to get a good, long lasting result.
