    Haha, nice try Kevin!

Today I got the radiator support and radiator in the fornt clip. I got the carb gaskets in the mail and they're now on the intake under the carbs. I also installed the rubber grommet and pcv valve into the valley pan.

hey terd, why dont you grind down a socket (make it smaller diameter) so you can use the bolts you want. not a lot of torque so a homemade thinwall socket will work... then just keep the socket just for that... just a thought....

I appreciate the tip, but that's not gonna work. There is ZERO room for any kind of socket (modded or otherwise) between the bolt head and valve cover. You can't even really get a wrench on there for more than 1/16th of a turn at a time and it makes it impossible to get tight.

By the way, if you've got some free time any time soon, I sure could use some help figuring out that tv rod situation. I have a factory tv rod but no brackets or linkage or real world knowledge, lol. Thanks again!

What happened to the flat head machine bolt instead of those gay allen heads? That's what corvettes used but I guess your too cool for that.

Great to hear you got all that done Terd. I was going to stop by the shop this morning and see the progress but I ended up taking a drive and never made it. I did happen to steal Jear Bear for a few hours today and the Wizard is 1/2 wired as of today and I'm getting dangerously close to starting it!

    Will do! Thanks!!!

I used something like that but with allen heads. I'm really looking for something that doesn't look modern. But thanks!!

  11. Grimace! That's funny stuff there Cookie!

  12. Hey Terd- we used to use slotted head machine screws on valve covers. Worked good and no clearance probs.

JJ bought some for his chevy at home depot. I'm going to take a look and see how I like them. But that's probably what I'll end up going with.

Let's just skip all the funny subtlety and call it Liberace's Butthole.

I like the elephant trunk one, lol. :D

Oh I am digging that lettering on the Liberace poster. I'd like "The Wizard" written just like that on my back decklid.

Screw the lettering, I like the poster! lolz. The "liberace" lettering is very pleasing. I could do without the wild west font on the bottom though. I think "The Wizard" would look awesome in the "Liberace" font though!

Tonight, Del and I got the steering arm bent just right so there'll be no more tire clearance/rubbing issues. I also got the brake pedal back in. Little stuff. But stuff done nontheless.

The short list is now shorter...
    gas pedal to carbs linkage
    carbs/throttle linkage
tv rod to carbs linkage linkage
    fab shifter
    burnouts

Its really only two solid days of work or so. I'll get the engine wiring hooked back up tomorrow along with where I had to cut the harness behind the cab when we lifted the cab in the air. I'll have to leave the headlights and turn signal wires for when the front clip goes back on after everything on the short list is done. That's only six bolts, thank goodness, lol. Maybe I can get some throttle and gas pedal linkage done Wednesday on shop night. I should be able to crank it up and hear it run once that's done!

I still think JJ will hear his run before I'll hear mine run. But that's plenty ok with me. I can't wait for either one and both to start raising a ruckus!

  20. Terd- record it for us when you light fire.

Haha, Jeremy is going to the hamb drags and picking up an old '40 merc custom on the way back. So it might be a few days. And this thing is my daily. I'll have it everywhere all the time.

Hey Terd if you are still planning on putting that batter in the engine compartment I have a a really cool pic in a magazine of that a guy did in 1963. Would be cheap and cool. I'll bring it to the shop Wednesday.

I still kinda think it should be hidden though under the dash.
