I was putting in check straps for the doors and had some diamond plate laying around. Quick fab and... What do you think?

  2. I think matching the door panel material would make much more sense. And build a panel to cover that firewall wiring while you're at it.

  3. I totally applaud the effort, and not being an ass at all,but does'nt work.
Maybe more of a match of the dash or door pannels is in order?

The firewall is going to be painted black, the floor will be covered in black rubber. The dash will either be black, engine turned aluminum, or diamond plate.

Personally i think diamond plate should stay relegated to big trucks and badly built vw trikes from the 80s. Remember, you asked ;)

Line X is a good use for Body and Kick panels I use it in Are Dragsters and it makes it pretty

  9. Looks '80s truck/jeepish. It works as far as function but for a trad-ish rod it really doesn't, at least not for me. Maybe a good slathering in a satin paint to make it disappear would help.

  10. Less is more, use restraint. You did ask.;)

Thanks for the opinions. I could go either way. It was scrap material, a little Mothers, and about
30 minutes, so I'm not out anything.

In MHO the shine needs to be toned down, maybe satin black. I'd hate to see you accused of trying to look up a skirt. Just my $.02.

  14. OK,so that would work then! :D HRP

Diamond plate is for tow trucks and trailers not hot rods. Use more floor rubber to cover it?
