Anyone planning to attend the Goodguys at the Ky Horse Park next weekend? Heavy advertising for it around here shame it’s the same weekend as the Boonesborough Boogie.

Also the same weekend as the Nostalgia Fall Classic at Beech Bend Drag Strip in Bowling Green KY which is a lot more interesting then a Goodguys lawn chair event.

Didn’t realize that. May head over there instead. Thanks for the heads up.

  5. The "heavy" advertising will work for bringing in the unwashed public.

Probably be in Louisville for the swap. Can’t make Somerset this month. Always a great show though but a lot of rainy weekends this year.

Not to mention the Nostalgia Fall Classic drag races at Beech Bend will cost you less the half of what it will cost you to attend the Goodguys KY event. Goodguys not only charges you to attend one of their lawn chair events they also make you join their organization. What a unique concept. Wish I thought of it before they did.

WTF is a lawn chair event? when I go to Goodguys it is a walk all day until you can't walk any more event. I'd say you are not doing it right.

ratfink, certainly your choice. Myself and most experienced rodders I know will take watching Nostalgia Drag Racing all day long over walking or sitting around a parking lot. Stopped going to Goodguys events when they discontinued drag racing and started allowing late model cars up to and including 2018 models at their events.

I can see current year late model cars at car dealers everywhere and not have to pay an admission fee. My choice.

I guess everybody has a different opinion of what "doing it right" is.

GoodGuys may be making a change. They are not even going to be open on Sunday at CLT. You can walk and see all you want on Friday and Saturday.

Bet they are still charging the same price as they would for a 3 day event.

They may be expecting a low turnout.

They actually called me, and asked if I was going.

    Never had that happen before.

    I'm going to Beech Bend.

The reason I like the Fall meet better is its the largest of the two which means more stuff to look at.

I'll be at Beech Bend. Good Guys is ok if there is nothing else to do and I don't have to drive any further than Nashvegas.

    It sucked.

I got there at 10 and left at noon.

There was maybe 50 show cars, and no racing until 4:00.

Does that mean 1000 cars in attendance or limited to 1000?

Got to Beech Bend about noon Sat. and the nostalgia racing was running pretty much non stop, even when I left about dark. Surprised by the number of vintage drag cars that turned out. Car show crowd was small but a few nice vehicles showed up even with the other shows going on. Picked up a set of flathead headers at the swap meet. Enjoyable Oct afternoon. Hope they do it again next year
