lump in throat? check. awful feeling of absolute uselessness in comparison? check. I feel like I've known her all my life, but, sadly, I never met her and have never been to Texas, much less Austin. Thank you for a wake up call and a tribute to a true angel. Cherish your friends and family, even when you aren't getting along. And hope someone feels the need to give you a tribute when you pass on.
So sorry! Life can change in very fast! I write this from bed. Had a bad accident two days ago, and I am flat out. I was told at my age I was lucky to still be here. So my message is enjoy life , friends and family. Drive that hot rod whenever possible . Be a good person. Sounds like Kati was. RIP

Major loss to to all; her family, you, and to us the hot rodding community. Special people are make this life, ( this is not a sport, this is not a hobby) Special.
I have been lucky enough to met and know a number of your 'crew' in Austin, and they are the greatest. So Cal might have a car run /show every weekend, but you have Lonestar,,,
Again, sorry for your loss, but take what she gave to you and use it to be the best person she would want you to be.
Oh man. I feel like I wanna write something but I can't find the words. Nothing seems appropriate. RIP Kati
Thank you for sharing this wonderful tribute to someone who was obviously a very special person. It sounds like she was a very bright candle in a close knit community; a loss like that will be felt forever. Condolences to the all of the Austin family...
Reading your words it is evident that Kati was near & dear to you and her untimely passing creates a void in a lot of lives, She sounds like the kind of person we all would have loved.
You, Kati's family and the entire Austin community have my heart felt condolences. HRP
