Projects Kaiser '49 - Ever seen custom?

I don't know anyone who uses a pump in tank on a carbureted car, I don't think I understand why you would need to do that?

When I started with the project of mine that was not built, unfortunately I am slow...but I will finish

 

...because I can't put the electric fuel pump under the tank, it's mounted very low...
Pumps inside the tank are also quieter, but for me this is not a problem

 

Typically the pump is mounted just forward of the tank on the inside of the framerail.

 

It's not the first time that I built a fuel line, my framerail is higher than the tank... I will find a solution..

 

Any updates on your Kaiser 49 build?

 

I have in-tank pumps on my 34 flathead roadster, my 41 hemi ford PU and my OT 442, all are carbureted. All of mine run Walbro pumps. They are high pressure pumps (58 GPH, 44 PSI) so they require a "return style" regulator like a Holley 12-887 or similar. In-tank pumps are quieter, run cooler and better looking (because you don't have to look at it) than any frame mounted unit.

I think you find the Walbro is small enough to fit your tank. Summit sells them as does Tanks Inc (all their pumps are Walbro).
