I seen a 49 Kaiser at the Pomona swap meet 4 months ago and I always wanted to see a custom one. Now that I have seen this thread it sounds like a pretty good Idea.
Ciao Orula, I would like to put the air suspension as you did on your project, but I have no money... I continue then I'll decide. The chop is almost done ... I had problems with the frame of the rear window because it was too rusty. I'm repairing. Next time more photos
cutting &welding: (inside the lower part I just had to tighten and weld, at the top of the usual oblique cut) Front pillar it's done:
That rendering is absolutly goregous, and I really can't express how awesome it is that it is actually being built!
Good to see the doors getting extended, should help the proportions a lot. How much are you stretching them? Looking forward to seeing more updates.
Just found that Kaiser cars were build in Holland since Februari 1949. I have a book that has been written by a man who worked in the Dutch factory for years and it's a nice information source. In 1949 In Rotterdam, Holland 1166 Kaiser cars were build there. In total in Holland some 5000 'big' Kaisers were build and 3000 Henry J's. Also build in the same factory over the years: Willys Aero and Jeep Hillmann Minx and Husky Simca 8, Aronde, Beaulieu, Chambord, 1200 Bertone, Saab 96 Plymouth Valiant Plymouth Barracuda Plymouth Conventionals ? Dodge Challenger Dodge Lancer and Dart Dodge Trucks Chrysler Nwe Yorker / Newport The factory closed it's doors in 1971 Hennie
Nice to see some one put an old Kaiser back on the streets Your doing a great job and I will keep watching
Thanks to all... In recent weeks, I have not to continue.. because they are very busy with my job. Now finish the Christmas/New Year holidays, I hope to have more time in the evening. @Squablow I stretch doors 13.5 cm or 5,31" @Dutch Deuce thanks for the info, then I think this is one of the 1166 Kaiser. I also have a Barracuda, may be comes from the same place. I had found a sheet of paper dated 1967 for a part sent from Rotterdam...
Changes are great your Barracuda is from the same factory. The same book tells that 1856 Barracuda's were build (assemled) in Rotterdam. Hennie
