These were taken yesterday at the abandoned Black River Falls Speedway. I think it's a great setting for taking pictures. Dick Trickle and Dave Marcis used to race there. The pictures were taken by my friend Steve Meurett. He does a nice job. Yeah, we took a victory lap when we were done. Tom
To me, it's kind of a sad place. I hate to see these places closed up. If you close your eyes, you can almost hear the engines roaring and smell the popcorn and beer, maybe a little cigar smoke and burning rubber. As you can see, the place has pretty well grown up with weeds and trees. Nothing remains of the stands or any of the buildings. Tom

That's it alright. The spectator stands were to the left. It's completely overgrown with trees now. The track surface is still suprisingly good. It seems really small, but it's a quarter mile. I believe it closed in 1966. Tom
When I was younger I used to count doors. I don't do that much anymore. Cool is cool no matter how many doors. I love the car Tom. The sexy model, not so much. John l
I did not, but yes, he sure did and Trickle smoked cigarettes during yellow flag laps. In fact he had a lighter in his car. Tom
