Got that Ratfink for my 50th birthday, I won't mention how many birthdays ago that was! The little yellow painted on button just below his left shoulder says, " OFFICIAL OLD FART", uhh thanks. I built my louver press when I was 25, shit time flies!!

My 24/7 ringing ears tell me that I have been around Ole Noisy for too long..., just not that one in particular...Hows your ears @Dean Lowe...despite the ringing my hearing is remarkably good and I'm hugely thankful for that...it's truly an element of go fast...such an awesome music but hard on hearing tissue...I do note many times in the vintage pics that many have their hands over their ears at the christmas tree area...

  8. My ears ring all the time thanks to 50 years in a noisy machine shop. And I can't hear shit without my hearing aids. :(

    Hello,

That red roadster was the coolest thing we saw in 1959. We had been reading all about the exploits of the Speed Sport Modified Roadster in the local Drag News. This drag race meet at Riverside in December of 1959 and then in Bakersfield in 1960, our viewing was complete.

These are some of the cherished memories that will linger on in this old brain as it was an eye opener to actually see and hear such a cool roadster up close and personal. It was fun watching it blast down the dragstrip, especially when I was sitting up on a cliff side and the valley below just accentuated the sound. Old noisy, indeed… YRMV

...Although the 40 is not Louvered Hamber @Bill Van Dyke's friends car is...I share these images of his Coupe with the flamed version the look it sported when it was sold...he has reached out a couple times trying to locate it to no avail and I thought I would put it out there from another Avenue here to perhaps joggle a few memories...He hasn't been on in quite some time...hope all is well with him...he sure had some goodtimes around Hotrod and had many pretty darn awesome examples of that he shared here...

Another oldie. For a few extra bucks I'll punch a 3" louver at the front of the row then switch to a 4" die for the louvers that follow just to be different. lvrs571.jpg lvrs572 (2).jpg
