A while back I started a thread after seeing the prices on a new truck. And in my less than clear way of expressing my idea the thread went completely off track. Thankfully Moriarty finally put a bullet in it and put it out of our misery! So if money was no object what would be your dream purchase or build? Since I already own my dream,51 Merc, my 64 Marauder, 55 Chevy and a number of off topic mid 60's Mustangs. My dream purchase would be a 41 Willys, it would end up being a black version of Big Johns car! So to be clear we are not talking new trucks or 401K's . What is your dream ride on topic car or truck! 2. Anything cool with a straight axle :D

  3. Fortunately I got interested in these old cars before the prices got astronomical, I would like to build another roadster someday but I will need the dumb money armored car to make a stop by my place.:D HRP

I would love to clone The McGee/Scritchfield roadster.

I would want another 64 Cadillac. I loved the one I had back in the 80's.

'56-'57 Continental Mark II and/or a '57-'58 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham. Yes, those would look nice in my garage!

I'd build a nice little altered wheelbase Chevy II, preferably with a blown big block. And go have some fun with it. I think if I spent enough $$$ on it, it would be nice enough that it could end up in one of the magazines.

I would say it would be between a 1932 ford coupe or a 1955 chevy sedan I happen to like the post, on that year.

It would be a tough choice.

Id buy the Batmobile and restore it back to the Lincoln Futura. In the trunk, there would be a fully chromed aircraft hydraulic setup. Full showcar over the top custom. Switches bitches....

  14. I guess I would actually build my merc then.
But an exact copy of this sounds fun

Oh no, you're not going to trick me into telling you all my hopes and dreams.
Just to sit back and watch someone with more time and money than me build them!
With that said I'll just give you some hints.
    59 Ford retractable
    50 Chevy fastback
    27 T 2 door sedan
    Old dodge power wagon
And none of these would be no where near stock!

The Bonneville Boomer, 39 Ford coupe. That car has been my dream car since I first saw it in a magazine over 50 years ago.
I'd make the current owner an offer he couldn't refuse.
Then I'd finish all my other stuff.

Last time I said '57 'Vette.
If the sky is our new limit, a Cheetah would be my pick. Tube chassis, all aluminum dry sump, blown, full roller stroker BBC. Magnesium TT's. Metalflake green.

I'd buy a '30-31 Ford model A 5 window coupe with a mild chop, '46 Ford cut down dash and matching steering wheel, '32 grill, 324 Olds motor with 6 carbs backed by a 4 speed, 9" rear, filled roof, 2 simple bucket seats, big and little chrome reversed rims sporting some wide white wall tires and a nice blue with big flakes paint job with some tasty white pinstripeing. That's all.

    55 Thunderbird with a big block Chevy, TH-400 and a shortened 9"..

I always wanted to dig into one of those little T-birds.. That massive frame and those long lower front control arms look like that could make a real nice handling street car..
I would remove the exhaust from the bumper and run them under the car. I would also remove the front bumper extensions if my car came with them..

I've had the good fortune to own my "Dream Cars". (not just HAMB cars) Today, Money being no object I would buy a real nice resto mod 57 Chevy BelAir 2 door hardtop, my first car at 16 was a 57 Chevy 210 2 door sedan, have talked on here about my car and now this type car is in the 75/100K+ bracket for a Gem, therefore I don't have one, unlikely will open my wallet that far at this time in my life. Again, money no object I, like many would have a fleet of Kool cars and hire a crew to take care of them, now just want to enjoy cars/hobby, not looking/wanting big garage time.

I don't think There is a car out there that I would spend stupid money on. I always wanted a C-1 Corvette. They have always been just out of my comfortable reach. When a driver was $4500 I had $3500, ect. So I might go for one of them. I never thought mid-years were worth the price they seem to bring. I never had a Sedan Delivery in my stable of any kind. So I might spend some money for a decent driver. Other than that I have what I want.
