I agree...that color was used on the '65 Chevy's also... Loved it when it came out, but after about ~8 years, it was PLUM UGLY... ON EDIT: UGLY was directed at the Chevy's.. Your Caddy looks really great in that old color !!
I am not a big Caddy fan that one is a beauty. My father had a 1959 Canadian Pontiac Strato Chief that had a very similar colour. Enjoy it. Nice find.
I had to look back at the pics after reading this... It does appear the door jambs are a lighter color than the car
I had to look back at the pics after reading this... It does appear the door jambs are a lighter color than the car I never should have tried to lighten the darker photos. Nope, never been painted, dented. A complete virgin in every way. And, best part is every pieces of paper that is associated with it since brand new is in a file. I mean everything. Gas slips, oil changes, even toll receipts from a trip to Chicago. I will post more photos, but as-is next time.
what a great looking car, glad to hear you will not be messing it up with trendy modifications. I feel sorry for a lot of these "Kulturized" Cadillacs we see these days. so many people take them from a classy car to one that looks like a worn out 50 year old whore. I see it does not have the full leather interior, does it have the Autotronic eye or tilt wheel? had a 62 with a perfect black leather interior. they must have made cows differently back then, because newer cars just don't have that same quality of leather that this one had.
Hey Jason Next time you visit, we'll take a road trip up to the A&W. But, you cannot eat in the car. And provided that the weather is good and there are not too many rock tossing trucks on the road!! (smiling) Stay cool!!
It's also a 50+ year old metallic paint job with a lot of red in it... I'm sure it was a slightly different shade the day it was born. Good for you for preserving it. Much as I love Ian Berky's Caddy (and he is doing a mind blowing job on it to say the least) I have a real thing for survivors.
