man, that is sad. looks like a cool project gone south. possibilities: 1. design ideas way ahead of fabrication skills 2. money ran out 3. wife gave him and the car the boot 4. neighbors had it towed in the middle of the night 5. client never paid and car got sent out for scrap 6. new hot girlfriend said she liked ricers better - a lot better 7. realized the blown allison wasn't going to fit without a lot more cutting 8. ???
I think Chrysler made Kaisers just like they did Studebakers - probably same plant even. At least that is what some people tell me anyway. Looks more like one of the ultra rare Ghia Kaisers to me though.
That there looks like 1 of those U just have to drag home> You know Just tell the wife it look lost and U r going to find it a good Home. B4 someone did something very BAD 2 it.
LOST DREAM!Looks like someone got in over there head.A dream that ability couldn't fulfill .At least the guy gave up before it was too late to $ quit.He must of had many hours in it already to get this far. That car would of made a cool custom. To save it now might be questionable ,you might be better of starting with a a new project car.
I was in a hurry so I didn't have time to dig through the inside (it was full of parts)someone did a lot of work on this one. This junk yard is next door to memory lanes (I understand they closed their doors yesterday ..for good)so alot of old cars are going to pick a part and ecology which are on each side of it(in wilmington,ca)its interesting to see how they did that top and all the reinforcements still inside the car. somebody was on a hot one that soon fizzled out(someone probably saw him having fun in life and had to stop it LOL)
That is sad, that car should never have ended up there. Was once a cool project. You should dig through the inside, who knows what lurks in there?
If you can't get it whole dig through it and I'd nab that back window, since they're fairly tough to come by.
wasnt this car at ecology? i think thats where i saw it most of the stuff i saw inside it was junk but there was a steering wheel off a chevy wonder if its still there
yes it was at ecology and there was fender chrome from a 64 impala ss and a pile of other parts, bumpers etc.. underneath a bunch of heavy parts inside the car
Hey, Damn, now I gotta drive to W-Town! That was no "botched'' project, or the work of some ''pizza faced kid''! Look at the layout and fit up of the panels, and what metalwork has been done so far. A couple days spent grinding and muddin' followed by some good use of trim & colour, and she could be a "major" player! Swankey Devils C.C. your right about that, pics don't tell the whole story you have to see it in person...it was sitting to the left when you walk in like 3 rows down.
I like the way you think. most anything is worth at least an attempt to save... I am continually amazed at the "car people" on here that give up so quickly on projects.
Since it looks good up close and not butchered I hope somebody rescues it.I hate to see all that work wasted.Like I said it would make a diffrent great custom. Now get down there and drag that sucker home.It looks like it is sectioned also is it?
I would say that car needs to be pulled out of there and saved, in my opinion there is enough there to work with, I see alot of work that needs help. BUT I also see alot of potiental, much to much to let it be crushed.....Jim
Hey, Well shit! after two hours of walking "Ecology Auto Whecking" no kustom Kaiser to be found. I asked every yardhand I saw, but I know jus' enough Spanish to order a drink, and get my face slapped, nobody knew or had seen her. One yardhand said, "we crush hundreds of cars a week, every week we turn over a complete area of cars". You should have seen the iron from Memory Lanes, the classic car wrecking yard that closed last week, that they were crushing. It was like visiting Aushwitz in classic car form. I left wantin' to throw up! Swankey Devils C.C. "Spending A Nation Into Generational Debt Is Not An Act Of Compassion!"
