TRADITIONAL HOT ROD LADY!!! I guess you have to be an old fart like me and have been around when we had REAL drag racing and REAL ladies like Pam and Linda. Some of us had girls like that, we even married a few. I don't think they make them that way anymore. Now they all have Brittany faces and bony asses. Nobody could back up a drag car like Pam could. To bad you young guys missed it.

man you got me lookin'. there's got to be somewhere. look at this on youtube. about 2:20 in you can barley make her out running along side the starting line as jim is doing his burnout. it's real quick.

 

I've often wondered why she does not/has not written a book, theres not much out there on late 60's racing.

She knows the inside stuff, heck the jungle jim stories alone would be worth buying it...

 

I guess the pics tell half the story...as Jim was a showman to compliment Pam's photogenic presence. He never approached the gate without a vault and a flair. Few lept into the ring as he did...it was simply a joy watching someone at the top of their craft.

Jan 2000 Hot Rod mag has a great in depth story on Jim and Pam. I want to scan it and post it but it is only part one and I can't find part 2.

 

Is this Paula Murphy in this pic with Pam and Jim?? This could have been taken at Green Valley. Saw Paula Murphy and Jungle Jim do a match race there one time.

She was, and still is one Fine looking Lady.

 

Her obvious attributes aside, I think it's awesome the way she enhanced Jungle Jim's career, and how they made a team. He was showman, but so was she. A great team. There's a lot more going on with her than tight tops and short pants. She is as legitimate a part of drag racing history as any any one from that era. Think what those races would've been like without her. Thanks, Pam.

My wife just came in to say good night and saw me lookin' at the Pam thread.
She says she doesn't get it.
I guess shes forgotten what it was like when she used to bend over a pool table in short shorts and made the bass player start missing licks and thought it was charming.
