I brought a four cal. Scintilla a couple months ago for a little less than US$100. AND an extra cap for $4.00. Not many people here use magnetos the market is slow for them.

Went to the National Automotive Museum in Reno Monday and saw this '29 that was said to be a reproduction of one of Bill Harrah's early cars. image.jpeg image.jpeg

I don't know what you guys are running for an oil pump in hour pressurized A bangers. I'm leaving for the LARS show this Sunday. I'm driving the '29 with a Miller conversion. The oil pressure has been a point of discussion with a buddy that is going along. He showed up with this today and made me install it. 1465522152729.jpg 1465522166021.jpg
Modified V8 pump. Well see how it does. Don't have any miles on it yet.

    That is encouraging, thanks.
Yes, added a spacer under the relief to lower the pressure. You can see it if you look closely. I've been running a modified A pump that has shortened V8 gears in it. This pump has 30% taller gears. Should have more volume.

  10. Nearly into the 100mph club with a vintage 4....

  11. The pump is a highly modified V8, I forget the years.
I too have used them, they work very well and no external bypass is necessary.
I see Cliff around the For Ever Fours events and I think has another batch in the works.

I have started messing around with electric water pumps. You can hide them anywhere and run a "Dummy Pump"

Some of my stuff is thermo-syphon

Do a Goggle some of these pumps push a lot of water and are small.

Are you using the auxiliary pump from vw/audi or one if the aftermarket ones?

    Verycool!!

Details, please! 6 or 12 volt?

  20. I will be putting this old Halibrand 201 Culver City together as soon as the new bearing/shim and gasket set comes in!
The center section/ring gear, now has the Richmond locker installed and the bells/axle tubes machined for the seals and later style bearings and push in spline axles! They have been sandblasted and powder coated gloss black. They will be using the same 1940 Ford juice brakes.
Yes I'm building 2 Halibrand 201's! This one here is the earlier one that I'm holding up with my foot on my quote! (I HAD TO ADD THE BLING BLING!) The one in the box is a later casting 201 with a little more meet, It'll go in my 34 5 window!

It is one of Cliffs pumps. He is a wealth of information. Been getting the banger ready for the drive to the Los Angles Roadster show, going to try and make it by to see him. He says that 'this one was his last one' that he is having a hard time getting cores.

The '29 banger is metallic blue

It is a Miller OHV conversion, B block, full pressure oiling. '32 transmission with '48 truck gears. 2.22:1
    Ford 8" .

    Guessing 2400 - 2500 RPM at 70 tires are 28" tall

    Thanks

Wasn't there an article recently in FAST that showed how to modify a V8 pump for use in a four?
