  2. Checking in!
Much hasn't changed from last month as I've been working on the suspension for the T.
Engine needs one more coat of paint, I ran out halfway (as you can see)

Got a few parts bolted up to the banger. Gasket kit should be getting here soon, but I'm in need of a decent timing gear for the front.

I got my waterpump from Sacramento Vintage Ford, they bored it to accept a large ball bearing.

Anyone running a thomas head? What did you use for your distributor shaft? The head is 0.25" taller than stock, but distributor shafts available from retailers never come with a lengh dimension in the product description.

My current one is 5.75" and I need one that is 6"... will I just need to have this made? And if so, does it need to be hardened steel or is soft ok?

    Thanks for your time,
    Gordy

@G_Don -my Brierley head came with a longer distributor shaft. I don't know if Jim makes them or sources them from someone else. You might check with him...

  22. Popped to a local company at the weekend to fit a set of their prototype Model A shocks. Plan is to to clock some miles on them driving the pretty route through the mountains down to Pendine, racing on the beach, and then the long weary drive home. Then strip them down and check them over when I get back.

As they’re just across the way from work I’ve been following progress. Supplied them with a heap of original parts to work from.

Anyway how are they? Pretty damn impressive so far after a quick blast around the estate and a charge home along some potholed country lanes.

Gday all, at work we play with bangers however mostly continental vintage/veteran types.
We also have a gaggle of specials about.
Its for one of these I ask the question.
We are trying to avoid getting getting a crown wheel & pinion made & need a lower diff ratio than standard. the crown wheel is smaller (in dia) than A model, I was wondering what dia is the T model crown wheel & what is the quality of the repro crown wheel/pinions like? This car will be running a 90CI HAL & get punted at race tracks. Thx

Well, the car is finally all together and running well with just a few days left till Pendine Sands.

I’ve had to change the exhaust to four shorties as the four into one lake style headers were glowing red at around 3000rpm. Cam overlap and waisted spark ignition means flames were heating the exhaust too much.

It’s fun on the road though. Spinning the rears in all three gears, but the rod brakes suck. Need to spend more time than I have at present going through them.
