From what I understand, there have been some areas who have kept the FAST going in a regional type org.
I know that Ron and Carol had spent quite a bit of time trying to have someone take over with no success.
It takes a huge amount of time and dedication to have a successful organization.

I apologize for being harsh..and yes Im old too..FAST people are good people,we had a great time,Its just the organization is infighting,we spent the official part of the meeting talking about lawyers and who has the rights to what..kind of a shame, the rank and file members are all brothers who dig cars and want to race occasionally..not talk FAST politics..

C3BF431C-F195-4CD7-802C-4538D69E574E.jpeg It’s buggin me so I gotta ask..maybe wrong thread...
Running 600x16s all around. Want cycle fenders. (600s were stock size in ‘35)
Scored a ‘35 spare tire trim band...snug fit on a spare-no go as a fender.

Tires are good. Don’t want to buy smaller ones if there’s any alternative ?

Hello All. I was wondering what would be a good max on compression ratio for a pressurized mains, but splash rods, would be for a street car. I don't need all out, but But my fear is beating the babbit out of mains or rods especially. I was thinking 6 to 1 might be a good compromise?

Timing is more critical than CR
As you raise the CR less timing will be required or tolerated
Also you have to be honest about the mechanical condition of the bottom end
If it is in poor shape it will degrade faster

    *** i ran 7-1 for a long time , no problems & good HP .
just changed to 6-1 for longevity , inserts all around / pressurized oil .
i would think the 6-1 could work just fine

Bottom end will be all new, turned crank, fresh babbitt, fresh rods. Rebabbitting is not cheap, at least around here. I'd like to get some good mileage out of it before the next time.

Thats about what I was figuring. I am having custom pistons made so I need to decide how they are going to make them. This is a T block with an A crank and rods, with a Frontenac head. Just a hot street engine.

Picked up the B-engine that I'll be using in my '28 Phaeton.
Bored .050 over many years ago but still looking good.

Has the counterweight crank and flywheel is lightened a bit to around 40lbs.

I just threw away a stainless steel band for a 19" RV spare tire cover. Looked like a perfect fit for a free standing fender. Enough material in a single band for two fenders.

  20. Oil pressure should also be a consideration. "Rule of Thumb" is 1o p.s.i. per 1000 r.p.m.! Low or no Oil pressure will limit how high you should rev the engine!

You can always add to the middle of the spare tire band and make it wider. Depends on your sheet metal fabrication skills. if you are not too fussy you could look into some trailer fenders that may work for your needs.

    Oh man! Where’s the dump?

Thanks @Binger. Metal skills suck, but width isn’t the problem...it’s the tight radius.
Front fenders are holding up state inspection...still an outlaw for now.

RAILCARMOVER- Thanks for attending our FAST meeting and debuting your great looking Sport Coupe. Sorry you were disappointed. It was a meeting! At least we didn't run out of coffee, donuts or food (THANKS DENNIS!) I noticed you neglected to sign up to help at our September 19th HILL CLIMB at the Auburn Airport. To bad, us old men could really use some of your youth and vast knowledge! Thanks, Steve Straw Nor-Cal FAST

Which may beg the question, what kind of RPM could a bone stock A oil system provide from A) a longevity stand point and B) an all out stand point.

Sent from my thinks it's smarter than me smart phone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app

IMG_20200525_094332958.jpg Hay everyone kind of a new guy to all this banger stuff
But just picked up a 30 rpu that was kind of a project that the original owner lost interest/time in
It has a ron Kelly built engine
T5 trans ,40 rear and big Lincoln brake's
My question is has anyone had any experience with the champion aluminum radiators
Some time in the future I may change to a32 grill and don't want to dump a lot of money on a rad

'32 grille should fit your radiator with little to no changes...

@Shutter Speed . Yeah probably wrong thread.
You can change the arc by steady down pressure, but it would appear you have more than half a cover there so if it were shorter the fit could improve.

It’s buggin me so I gotta ask..maybe wrong thread...

Welcome to the banger world. With your T-5 is it open drive shaft or are you running a torque tube?
