    US 12 Speed and Custom, a recognized and award-winning hot rod/race shop serving the southwest Michigan and northwest Indiana areas is looking to add to the team.

    This is a great opportunity to earn top pay and insurance along with joining a state-of-the-art shop along with a talented team who are building top notch hot rods and show cars. This is a fast-paced environment. You must be willing to travel to car shows, races, and other events like SEMA/PRI. You must be passionate about what you do and able to receive constructive criticism. We like to work and have fun!

    We are looking an EXERIENCED Body/Paint Specialist with a vision for what it takes to create world class rolling works of art. You must have experience with restorations. Must know how to “Fit & Finish” body panels.

    Job Responsibilities:
    · Assist with the preparation and review of cost estimates, and participate in developing proper build plans for each vehicle.
    · Perform structural repairs.
    · Fabrication of metal components.
    · Be able to assess and clearly document needs and work plan of vehicle.
    · Fabricate and install custom sheet metal panels (weld, prep, form, bend & finish panels).
    · Remove damaged sections of vehicles using plasma cutters, air grinders, and hand tools, and install replacement parts using hand tools or welding equipment.
    · Remove, install, adjust, and align body components, while ensuring proper fitment.
    · Advise body shop estimator of additional damage or if repairs will not be completed on time.
    · Ensure vehicle security and safety while in shop.
    · Maintain an organized and acceptable work area.
    · Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor, i.e., provide technical assistance to helpers, orient and train new employees, etc.

    · A welding background is necessary.
    · Experience as both a body tech & TIG welder.
    · Knowledge of panel & rust repair.
    · Knowledge of solvent & water born paint materials.
    · Understand estimate timelines.
    · Mechanically inclined & able to solve problems.
    · May be required to work overtime (more than 40 hours per week) as business needs dictate.
    · Must be reliable and willing to learn specific procedures and have the patience for perfection.
    · Willing and able to help develop and maintain a team atmosphere.
    · Proof of work and welding test is required.
