Great job-car looks right-on! That rear body treatment looks very familiar.

Replacing all the quarter wood with steel. Slow tedious work that doesn't look like much when done, but it makes things real strong

It is actually ... My lighting is horrible and when I work at night I use a hand held shop light hung from the inside of the quarters to see what the hell I'm doing.

I had started to make an aluminum dash awile back but decide to go with a steel one instead. I didn't want to buy an aftermarket one so I figured I'd try to hammerform one out of some
    18ga.

First I traced the pattern onto some pine boards that I had. I cut the profile out of each, clamped them together then sanded the edges smooth so both sides would be a perfect match

I then traced the same profile on the steel and bead rolled the profile line

The bottom board was positioned on the bottom edge of the bead and the top board on the top edge of the bead and then everything clamped into place

After removing from the wood form I trimmed the top edge and drilled my gauge holes

Took it back off the jack stands today. It's been up in the air since I put in the rear sub rails and floor. I think it sits nice and has a good stance.

Going to put the steering in next. I'm using a '50 F-1 column and a neat old aluminum column drop that I got at a swap meet last year. Maybe a small engine turned insert to fill up the space around the column. Not sure what this was out of originally.
