Very cool little video. It has that old hot rod sound to the "T", or at (least to the deuce). I'm surprised you didn't have an oil bath there unless you had the rockers clipped. If not I'd check my upper oil rails to see how much your getting to the rockers as that could easily be the source of a stuck valve. Hemis' feed the valve train a little different than most other motors.

    Sounds good,
    Enjoy the summer off!

Well after a few years of looking I found an original Edmunds choke cable bracket for a Stromberg. This probably found its way onto a Ford 94 carb at one point because it has an extra hole drilled which lines up with the 94 carbs I have on my model A.

Turns out this use to belong to and be on the car of Don Kruger, Portland hot rod legend. Don was one of the founding members of the Dukes car club back in the early 50s. Some of his estate was auctioned awhile back after he passed and this little piece of history found its way out.

I installed it tonight and hooked up a choke cable which was really needed as the Hemi is grumpy when cold. Looks at home

I made a pattern before installing as there isn't much to these, and am thinking of whittlin a few of these out this summer.

Those choke cable brackets are great. They're ridiculously expensive though. I saw one go on eBay last week for $365!

Outside for the first time since last fall. Workng on getting the old door panels and inside back window upholstery in and also making a headliner.

I wasn't really happy with the seat location last year but lived with it. Working on sliding the seat back some and installing a spoon pedal so the car is more comfortable to drive on the long hauls when the club hits the shore.

Other stuff on the list is installing the old bomber latches on the insides of the doors and making safety rods so the doors won't blow open.

Some steering adjustments and fixing a broken window regulator. I'll get some pics up soon

Jerry was kind enough to let me sit in this car when I picked up the sport coupe. It gave me goose bumps. The photos don't do this car justice.

Can you provide any more info on the bomber latches you have used as safety latches? They just look the part.

    Tks

  17. Jerry,
Now that I scored my 3 window that I had been chasing for many years I went back to your build of this kick ass hot rod you put together and went through all of it one more time. I like everything you done to it. Your workmanship is outstanding and I can only hop I can come close to building something like this out of mine.
Can you tell me more about what you did for the bench seat? Did you make it as the sides look a little short from an orignal one.

Sorry. Just saw this post. The latches were purchased off someone on here but they pop up all the time on Ebay. I saw a picture of another coupe that had them and thought it was a good idea. They were standard equipment on a certain type of WW2 plane. They are stamped with the word shutter and are super light weight yet strong.

It's actually a model A bench seat. I couldn't find an original 32 one and didn't want to put an aftermarket one in. It's a little smaller but still works.

I was the first to use these on my coupe back on '07. A lot of others followed after...they work great.
