This thing is so cool! Cool like you found it and what you've done with it has upped the cool factor exponentially.

Got a few things done after work today. I painted and installed the tank, mounted a cool old Marvel oiler, and started the wiring.

  9. Stupid question of the day, so what does the oiler do? Besides the obvious fact in that it oils "stuff".

Regardless, I really like it. :)

Huh--I noticed on the drawing of the engine there is a PCV valve --I don't think they used them till mid 60's---might be too high teck fir your engine hahahahaha
I used to use that marvel mystery oil in all old engines---had a lifter tapping for about 6 months one time and thats when I got introduced to it by a friend--dumped that stuff in and in one day the tap was gone!!!!

  12. That is really cool! Thanks for posting the instructions!

When you first got that car this is what you said, and this is a quote:

I'd like to find some history on the car. My initial plans are to leave it as survivor, put a motor in with period goodies and get her running down the road....go over the front and rear supension, frame, and brakes....nothing fancy.

    NOTHING FANCY!

    Guess you changed your mind!!!!!!!:D:D:D
    Glad you did!

Had an old racer brown rev limiter plate that was a swap meet score awhile back. I cut the ends off of it, and radiused the top to match the lower profile of my dash

With some of the material I cut off I made tabs that I welded on so it can mount under the dash. I'm in the process of learning how to tig weld so I thought I'd give it a go on something besides scrap.

Going to mount my ignition switch, headlight switch, and magneto switch

Yea the frame and suspension was all cobbled up and an accident waiting to happen. Frame was twisted sister and body was welded to it. Like most projects there is usually more than meets the eye once you tear into it. It all had to be redone

Thanks again for all the nice comments, I appreciate it. Working on the wiring and a bunch of last minute stuff. This is going to Jalopyrama next week and I've been putting loads if time in. That 4 wire Yankee turn signal threw me and my buddies for a loop making it work. I did a search here on the Hamb and found a great old post with a wiring schematic. I wound up using a heavy duty trailor rear light signal convertor that I got at autozone. I'll get some pics up. Had to redo the clutch pushrod going into the slave cylinder too.

New windshield and rear glass is in. Door glass is cut and ready to go in when the felt channels come in from macs.... Hopefully by the weekend I will have the car back on the ground and will crank it over
