im about to tackle my brake lines pretty soon, as soon as my proportional valve gets here that i ordered off speedway.
my '58 ford fairlane has the 460 swap and im nearing the end of this project but i have a lot of little stuff to do..

yesterday i was searching for some brake line on the internet and i came across jegs selection, but its pretty diverse and im not sure what the difference is?

    1. brake line coil kits?

i asked my dad about this, he said its flexible stuff, probably easy to bend and it has length to it, and i can cut it to fit. i'd have to flare it and stuff of course, and its medium priced, 30-80 bucks *with the flare gun and bender with the 80 dollar one*

    2. stainless steel brake lines?

dad said that this is just hardlined straight tubing, i'd have to bend it, and its preflared already! i cant shorten it because if i cut i cant put a piece of rubber connecting to the two pieces, so i have to make sure i get the right length and make sure it fits. but its pre flared? and its relatively inexpensive, like 8-30 bucks? but its pre flared and i've read alot of stories about how hard it is to flare?

    3. galvanized steel brake lines? real cheap...

its pre flared, its the same as the last one where its a pre cut length, but its cheap, 6-10 bucks? dunno how this one would work..

    4. jegs universal brake line kit
    - http://www.jegs.com/p/JEGS-Performance-Products/JEGS-Universal-Brake-Line-Kit/1359679/10002/-1

it looks like it has everything you need? the flexible lines, and the pre flared pre fitted lines? not sure how this one would do or work....

someone care to shine some light on this subject, im clueless at brakes but they're the most important part of my project seeing as how i NEED to be able to safely stop. its a disc drum setup so you guys have any advice/ input!?

I bought a 25 foot coil of fedhill copper aloy tubing and its so easy to work with its unbelievable. You dont need a bender at all, I did all the tight bending with my fingers or used stuff I had in the shop to bend it around. It will bend around a vise handle without kinking and thats a pretty tight radius. I did splurge and buy one of the Eastwood double flare tools and it was worth every penny. Didn't have a single failure as far as boggered up flares when I ran mine for my pickup. They're about 200 bucks but you'll be very happy with it. Do a google search for the fedhill tubing and see what you think. I highly recommend it!!
