What little of James Dean I've ever seen in movies just made me want to kick his ass.
The most interesting thing I've ever seen even remotely connected to James Dean is the car he hit that killed him. I'd love to see a "before" shot of that coupe.
Isn't it the 40th anniversary of Sha Na Na?
He will always be Kool.........
As far as I know, that has been debunked. The driver of the other car did not have the right-of-way, and was thus responsible for the accident.
And the 50th anniversary of the FLINTSTONES!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bet Rikster has pictures!?
Here's the pic...
Tman its all good. Bob
Great photo. That looks like Dean's Porsche Speedster that he raced before he bought the 550 Spyder. Location looks like Palm Springs. Dean ran a sports car race at the Palm Springs Airport in his Speedster.
Now that cool! Which one is gramma?
if its the one with her hand on his leg you should highfive her for being awesome.
Thanks Dawg. Bet it's the first time this cool pic has been "published".
Dean was awesome palin and simple,no one has come close since nor ever will.
Yeah he left 55 years ago & I can in 55 years ago.....weird, just missed him !
I really want more info on the turnupspeed Ford. and why hasnt anyone cloned it... wow I just realized that would be weird to do.
don't know the story behind the photo, other than I found it in one of her photo albums, all it says on the back is me and James dean...
Awsome pic Dawg.
Wow... what a great photo.
I thought George Barris bought the porche??
When I was taking driver's ed in 1966, we saw the film "Death on the Highway" that included the James Dean wreck. Supposed to scare the crap out of us, but frankly, none of us knew who J D was and we were invincible anyways. Anyone remember the film?
Nice picture of James Dean's sports car, I have written a book about the late James Dean , some say that his car was cursed.
So tell us more. Title? Where can we see it?
iirc, "little bastard" was parted out, to an extent, after the wreck. the engine was sold to another racer. apparently, that car then wrecked. other parts were sold off and "weird" things happened to either the driver or cars they were placed in.
then enters Barris. He puts the car on tour of the country promoting safe driving. funny, since it's been noted that Dean was probably driving a tick over the double nickel and had the right of way on a wye intersection. anyway, on a return trip from the East Coast, the remainder of the car "disappeared" from the rail car it was in. apparently, it hasn't been seen since.
que the Psycho soundtrack.....
or read the 2005 link
I have seen shots of the car at the Barris Shop after the accident.. just sitting there...kinda crazy.. I'll see if I can dig them up..
