Had a great time a met alot of cool kats. Was a little hung over from the night before at the motel partying with Mike from Grand Rapids MI(gray 64 chev pik-up) & Rick from Jersey(black 34 chev) and quite a few others. All around good time and definitely coming back next year. Anywho, here are some of my pics from the showdown...
    (that's us next to Mike's truck:D )

I was there on Saturday. I was hanging out with Larry (KustomChief), Jeff (Sawzall), Brian (Tokyo), Jeff McKelvey (Jeff) and Glen.

I drove into town beside the Deadbeaters, but unfortunately I was just driving my '03 Dakota. Cool me.

I'm sorry I didn't get to meet more HAMBers.

I forgot my camera at home! :(

Who is Bob K. from Minnesota with the green '51(?) Chevy convertible with "HAMB" plates? That car is beautiful and SOMEBODY must have photos of him tearing around the track. CRAZY!

This is definitely one of the best shows around. Anyone who's ever considered going should just go next year. You won't regret it.

Does anyone have photos of the fenderless '34 pickup truck (dull green). I think it might have been a Road Agents truck. I really dug it. There were tons of great cars there and I'm so mad I didn't have my camera.

I knew I was in trouble when I came out of that porta john and the camera's were flashing:D

Once 999 was running I was was a happy pup. I guess it was elergic to the shiney paint. I was miserable when it wouldn't start. I just couldn't bare the thought of not being able to flog the car around the track.

I also got lucky in the swapmeet. I got a match to my 20" artillery wheel, a Hurst motor mount and some Rotoflow shocks.

Thanks Larry and sorry I couldn't be of more help.
    Clark

PS...metalgirl...that one pic with my pick up in it looks really cool.

Had a great time at the show. For some reason I wasn't in the picture taking mood, but i got a couple pics. I didn't stay long enough to see the 999 up and running but I got a pic of it before the brand new textured brown paint job. If you need 1 of these pics, i have big versions.

That shot of Clark coming out of the portapottie covered in 'mud'... Priceless. A great humourous start for a Monday morning. He looks just like the 'Shit Monster' in the movie Dogma.

I had even more fun at the Showdown than Fatty Patty.

Thanks for the great event, Larry!

I'll have some low-tech B&W's that'll be coming out of development in the coming week.

-Roadstar I have a few of you soaking it up on the backstretch, and one I hope turns out real well next the 999.

Bob is from Wis not Minnesota and yes it's a very nice car. Doesn't suprise me that he'd have it on the track

This must be the racecar owned by the "legendary" big Pete Trumbaur!
If it's owned by big Pete, I wonder if there's a story behind it?

    Hell Yea!
Thanks to Larry and the guys for a great time....
I guess next year we (The Drifters) should crash out in the campgrounds.... We stayed at at the hotel in dillsburg, where there was nothing to do.. We did meet this cool older guy named Jimmy Who helped us out with parts and some advice after Trixie (the monster dodge pickup) busted a couple of trans cooler lines... I cant say enough how cool this guy!!!
I am planning on coming out again next year! Way to much fun! BTW if you have a stong car and good brakes and are coming from west of PGH Take old rt 30 its an awsome drive!! killer views, and if you arent careful killer curves and drop offs.... 7% grades! we came out the Pike and went back Rt 30... Great end to an awsome show!!!!
    THanks Again

Yeah, I heard about the Fatty Patty antics. Unfortunately having the flu all week took me out of participating in Friday nights festivities.

We were standing nearby when he walked in (Don't ask why we were hangin' by the shitter), and about 4-5 of us looked at each other, and we all had light bulbs floating over our heads.

Everyone just reached for the cameras :D
