I made it only for sat afternoon and had a blast. Watching the cars go around the track is incredible and sounds kinda stupid until you see a modified banger out there and it really is special, made me want to get back to the shop to build one so i could do it. I got some great deals at the swap meet, stuff i've been wanting for quite a while. The cars were beautiful, traditional hot rods to lead sleds and even a chopped COE with a rear-engine double W motor (at least that is what i thought it was, two 348's coupled together). But the ladies! they were just beautiful. I believe i'll make it a weekender next year.

Haven't been home long. As every year we had a blast! I met alot of new folks this year even though I don't remember much of anything that went on after dark. I'll try to post some pics later.

I gotta tell everyone that I can confirm once again what I have said in the past.........
Jalopy Showdown is quite simply the most fun you can have at a show.

What else is there? Good people, great cars, action on the track, killer bands, amazing swap meet, talented artists.....

TOTALLY worth the trip from Iowa.

Larry and his crew make this entire event seem like it is no work at all....I can tell ya coming from both sides of these events, that this is not always an easy task. They pull it off with seemingly no effort at all and this can only be a direct result of a lot of behind the scenes hard work.

Thanks to all those that make this event happen. I truly appreciate it and I know that there were people there for the first time and they stated they would be back fer sure.........

This year seemed like it was packed to the gills with amazing cars and people with the right kind of mindset to enjoy the festivities. I am not sure where Larry is going to put more cars that are going to show up next year.................
but I am gonna try my best to be there to see what the solution is.

    Bottom line -
this is one of THE shows that I compare all the other shows in the country to.

So far - I have found only a handful of shows that even come close to the amount of fun that is to be had at the Jalopy Showdown.

    If you have never been........................GO!
