Is it just my PC? I keep trying to click on Jalopy Journal.com and it changes to some other website. Something about Gurls or Teens and I shut it down before it actually comes up. So I don't know if it's porn or what. I don't have a virus on my PC as far as I can tell.

Can somebody else try and tell me what happens.

    Thanks.

You might have a worm that is latching on to this address when you click on...pretty sure it's your computer?

That sounds like you may have some Maleware. Maleware is different than a virus.

What I always use and believe is best is Malewarebytes. It is free and almost always works for me. You can check it out by going to the website of the same name.

These are very common with web sites as of late its been worse. I had one from youtube. I clicked a video and it took me off grid and then just had trouble with all web sites.

I also had one that got me and it locks up your computer and will say FBI has seized your computer and you need to pay to get it back. This one is a pain in the ass. You have to hit the safe mode keys after you restart your computer. Then down load a virus guard if you do not have one already.

I down load Kaspersky. I have it on my other computer and I aslo have McCafee on another. Kaspersky seems to fight things off better then McCafee. I did the free trial on my old laptop (problem laptop) and it took care of it. I have had this happen to me twice and the second time was right after my free trial ran out.

I also like that iwth Kaspersky it shows out from any site you go onto if its safe or not.

I will aslo add do not use it to check your bank balance or credit card and even paypal until you get rid of the worm and problems

That is MALware. Maleware is something entirely different (DON'T ask me how I know!)

Didn't Ryan post something about this just a couple days ago, said they were working on it?
Yeah, I got that FBI lock out too. The tip off it wasn't real beside the fact I wasn't doing what it claimed was they wanted me to send a $300 Moneygram. Yeah, the Goverment uses Moneygram! Had to give my computer guy the PC, he said they are tough to get rid of. He also said some of his customers actually sent the $300!

I am don't know what windows your runnin, but if your runnin 7 hit the windows buttom and where it says search programs or files type in

%temp% and hit enter. This will bring up a host of programs, then his the ctrl and A button together, this will highlight then hit delete. Depending on how many BS files you have it ay take a while, if windows sees a program file you will get a pop up simply hit skip. WHen its done you should only have 3 to 5folders left. Then do a disk clean up, then run your anti virus...... This is the basic steps for ridding your system of most malware or other clutter....

    %temp% ctrl A delete

    Thanks mustang,
I deleted everything out of my temp folder. Then I clicked on JJ again with no luck. It's still forwarding me to some other website.

Thanks for trying though. I'm gonna continue to let this Norton run and see what it finds for now.

Keep in mind, you have other clutter my method rids besides the temp folder..... Norton should get it.

Sometimes you can run Norton, and then after a few minutes try to fire up another Norton runnin 2. Those pesky critters like to move around. LoL

Good Luck. Becareful shutting down and refireing your computer. sometimes it works and sometimes it escalates the issue.....

  25. From my earlier post today RE= Alliance probs.... Same stuff. Threw Spy-bot at it=no dice,Mcaffe=no dice, ran several scans=same.......Gonna step outside the box some and see what happens.

Ran Norton, deleted temp folder, re-booted......still no worky.

Oh well, JJ is the only site this happens to me on. Dunno what the deal is. HAMB still works so I'm not freakin out.

If it wasn't 19 degrees outside, I'd be in the garage.

Let me know if you figure it out Invisiblekid.
