  2. What an outstanding show. If you think you've seen every cool hot rod show in North America, you haven't unless you've been to the Jam Up. We had a great time just wandering and talking to a ton of very cool people, just happened to be surrounded by some of the coolest hot rods on the planet and an awesome setting...

Google maps says Calgary AB (city hall) to Jalopy Jam Up is 2,106 miles. Impressive!

If all goes well I think they'll be home tomorrow. And I thought I was tired after the show!

We pulled back into our own driveway in Calgary at 5pm Wednesday. What a drive! What a weekend! What a show! I'm definitely going to have that one at the top of my list for a lot of years to come, and may do it again although I've got to let the memories of the St Paul 694 in the rain on bias-ply tires fade.
I had a lot of fun taking snapshots at "sights" along the way, especially between Calgary and Jamestown ND over that stretch you're driving highway and have lots of interesting waysides that are easy to access.
On the first day of travel we stopped at a bunch of em.

The Teepee is in Medicine Hat Alberta
    [IMG]
The Snowbird Tutor jet and Moose are in Moose Jaw Saskatchewan
    [IMG]
Then came Rouleau Saskatchewan AKA Dog River and the home of Corner Gas
    [IMG]
First thing in the morning of Day 2 on the road we used Estevan Saskatchewan's dragline bucket for a shot.
Estevan is also where we reache "Peak Butterfly"

Then came North Dakota where the sunflower fields beckoned
    [IMG]
and we stopped at "The Worlds Largest Buffalo" in Jamestown
    [IMG]
Minnesota and Wisconsin we pretty much blasted through, I94 offers up very few distractions, and perhaps that's for the better because we started making better time. That paid back in Milwaukee where we got to play tourist for the afternoon and rest before making the final stab up to Durham.
We crossed Lake Michigan on the 6am ferry Friday morning, putting us in Muskegon at 9am with a 6 hour drive to the show.
Our arrival at the Frontier Ghost Town along with the escort and ovation as we rolled into the heart of the show was amazing. Something we'll never forget! I can't thank Jay, Jeff, Brandon and everyone else who made it happen, and followed along as we made the trek, enough for their support, interest and for providing an event worth the effort. The most satisfying short of the trip!

Coolest show if ever been to .Really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere and the amount of quality rides that showed up . I'll be back next year for sure. I didn't bring the fancy camera but here's some random phone pics I snapped. To Jeff, Brandon, Jay and all the volunteers that made the show happen, a BIG THANKS. Had a great time, looked at an excellent group of traditional Rods and Customs, listened to great music and got the best haircut I have had since the last Jam Up. What more could you ask for in one weekend????? .
