Heres the start lets see what we can do with this.
Sorry bout the big pics gotta figure how to get them smaller.
So far i like the start!
Heres some more
Wow, all of a sudden there's quite a few mid-50's Cads being built...cool...!!! What's the total plans for it...???
Care to see my '55 Caddy build...??? Go here: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=329070&highlight=the+best+55+caddy+build
PS - DO NOT make the pix smaller...they are the right size now...
Does that Ranchero, in the back, really sit like that?
Stude dude ive seen your build awesome. Very nice and tasteful.
Im gonna go for a clean mild custom im about 50-50 on choppin it right now but first things first got a 500 caddy mill to put in it. Ive already clipped it with 77 camaro ft. notched bagged and channeled cut 1.5 inches off the bottom. im just behind on the pics.
Yep thats a gasser build on the back burner. But thats another story
Thanx for the compliment...
Cool on the mild kustom...but Cadillacs should be CLASSY...and FWIW, not everything needs to be chopped...
I know. thats why im up in the air on it. If I chop its gonna be like two inches at the most. Want it to look pretty original. Im toying with moving the back glass down a lil and keeping windshield stock. Then maybee I wont have so much work to do with stainless and vent window.
Cool Build! Keep the pics comin'!
Reminds me of the one we just finished...
Oh very nice, love the 50s caddys. You keeping the stock engine? I like those early cadillac mills.
I wish, damn thing is seized up good I got it with no spark plugs in it and was full of sand.
I got a caddy 500 to put in it out of a seventies eldorado.
please dont roof chop it, love the stock lines on a slammed caddy, gives it more of a hard look i think
CADILLACS DONT NEED TO BE CHOPPED!
And thats coming from a custom guy who loves well-chopped cars.
Cadillac got it right from the factory.
Dont jack it up
Haven't seen a chopped one I liked more than the stock roof. Just sayin'...
Sweet shop... That caddy looks good… Looks like gona be another sweet build
here's my 55 Cad chopped 1 11/16". You're thinking about 2"? I think that might be too much.
In this picture i don't have the stainless trim installed yet.
With the stainless installed the chop is just slightly more noticeable because it closes the window opening by that much.
I say give it a mild chop. i think it enhances the car.
chopped caddies ain't seen everyday!
lookin' forward to your updates
Looks nice. But I want to keep wraparound rear window. I too think a mild chop would look nice.
Thanks for the pic.
Cadstar looks nice. Better than stock IMHO. Thats like three inches.
Cool, atleast its still a cadillac.youll be able to have a good tranny behind it too with out a adapter plate.
Awesome ..I love seeing what you guys can do with these Cadillacs.
Clip done put in a lil high on purpose.
500 sittin in there just to check fitment, trying to get it to clear hood without draggin oil pan on the ground.
looks low enough. starting to patch the floor together.
Dont need that, lil closer to the ground.
1.5 inches off the bottom.
Gotta be sweet im sure. Your builds are always intresting. I mean it in a good way of course, as in creative stuff.
BTW, 55caddyted looks on the spot. If only still had the wrap around would be perfect. I say go for it.
Nice start. Please keep posting !!!
Thanks I try to do allot of work to a car. I know you could just lower a 56 caddy paint it gold or green put white walls on it and call it a day. But thats just not me, and seen as how this is my car, not a customers its gonna get some work done.
I will try as hard as I can to keep the caddy soul though.
But Nothings Sacred.
