    Had seen the same vintage Chevy fenders once on a 48 Ford pickup and thought they looked good there too.

    Despite the condition, happy to see it can be saved!

  5. I hope somebody brings that truck back to its former glory. As for the rear fenders, the chev fenders look very good on this truck but the original fenders are a real work of art. Metal sculpture at its finest.

    Not really . She is getting worked on as I type by Wicked Customs @ SoCal North to be a survivor as is for a while then eventually she will be going back to its former glory! But as some of us think paint belongs on houses and in my opinion she looks awesome! She was in a sad state and her new caretakers Jan & keith are doing her right by bring her back ! And I am so happy to just be part of my families journey and be allowed to have a hand in her resurrections no matter what! and thanks to many on here for parts and guidance in her rebirth! btw looking for more info and were about's on these lights i believe the Appleton but exactly what version combo i'm not sure?

    Yes and she is on her way back I'm happy to say!
    My family Jan & Keith are now her new caretakers and I'm just so happy to be part of the journey !

    What an awesome deal that the truck has survived and in such good shape to boot!
    Would be killer to hand the paint gun to Gene Winfield and give him the honors to paint it.
    Finding or replicating that Triumph would be next level.

    looking at the photo I see 1956 California plates, so the photo was '62 or earlier. I see nothing sad there, what percent of show cars from that era still exist in any form today?
    seems like there are only 2 pics and this article on google.

    Boris...thanks for the good news...Hambers are really good at identifying details such as spots...however I think you'll have to come up with a better pic than that...

    I think that is from the magazine so no doubt it was mentioned in the article...

    Do the holes for the spots go all the way through to the interior? A lot of vehicles were built with dummy spots over the years, no inside handles. If there were inside handles previously, the go to spot was the 112 appleton, that is what most people used....

    late 57 was the year they did the Appleton spots?

    yes I now see it is stated that it was late 57 they were done!

  24. Spots used that late would have been Appleton 552's not 112's. 112's were used early on but by the 50's almost everyone was running 552's. It's the reason they are twice the price of 112's.

    I'm not the owner so I can't answer the question about if it will get painted back to the gold as far as the blue frame that's the way it was built in 57 and sorry about the mess of picture arrangement lol
