I've been layin' off the computer for the last few months, trying to get things done!
First off congrats to Ryan and eveyone involved in the new board, I really like how things have turned out.
I shipped my Olds off to my dad's place and brought his 51 Chev over here.
I've spent the last couple of months putting in a mustang II front end, power steering and power brakes.

All of this had to go in that (with out scuffing the 20 year old laquer)

Everything had to come out, motor, trans, all the inner splash pans and so on.

And I was left with this.

Here it is after spending what seemed like for ever fitting everything together and building a new column.

The column sure turned out to be a challenge all on it's own.

I had to trim the splash pans to fit the new suspension, this included trimming almost 4 inches off the bottom of the heater box.

Here's where it sits right now. I'll be bolting the suspension together this weekend.

The motor and trans are all cleaned and repainted, ready to go back in.

It doesn't look like much, but I've got almost 100 hours into it so far.
A couple hours here and there after work and on the weekends.
There is light at the end of the tunnel though, soon my Olds will be home and I can get back to work on it!

Very clean looking. It will be really easy to keep looking good with all of the time you've spent detailing your work.

why not put in a V8 while you're at it? When I pulled the 235 out of my '54, I thought it would be going back in. But now a 327 and a Saginaw 4-speed seems much more appealing, so that's the way I'm headed (if i can just find a shifter for the Saginaw). Different Strokes, I guess. Good to see you posting again!

Thanks guys, it's been a lot of work but it's all starting to come togther now.
Southfork, the 6 is only a few years old, it's a .060 over 261 with a cam, dual carbs, split exhaust and electronic ignition, it scoots the ol hardtop down the road just fine!
