Customs It's in the book!!! Got me some Rod and Kulture Coverage

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by daddy_o's_diner, Oct 7, 2011.

  1. Had a nice dinner with the family tonight. Decided to stop by the Barnes & Noble next door to see what was new on the magazine rack. I see the new Rod and Kulture so I grab a copy. Fast forward a couple hours and I get a chance to plop down on the couch and give it a look.

Low and behold I get to the billetproof Detroit coverage and there is a nice big picture of my old '54 Vicky!!!

It's an honor to get coverage in a mag as cool as R & K. What makes it extra special is that was my last show with the car as I sold it right after billetproof.

It's now in the hands of a west-coast HAMBer who is in the process of making a few improvements before going public with it.

    Made my night! :D

Here is a shot I took of the Vicky and my '34 at billetproof.

Why don't you grab an extra copy and rat hole it away? It will be even cooler to look at ten years from now. Do it now, put it in a brown bag and forget about it. Ive' done that with some mags my families cars were in from the late 70-early 80's and its neat to break them out every few years and see how much things have changed. Of course THAT Vicky is timeless so it will always look good!

I doubt that this is not the last time that car will get magazine coverage. It's a great car that you should be proud of Dave.
  16. Thanks for all the kind words, guys.

And, a big thanks to Zombie for the coverage.

Jarzenhotrods - I saw the feature of your car in the same issue. I have always loved your car and was actually influenced by it during the build of my Vicky. Your car is a perfect example of the "less is more" philosophy of building a mild custom. A timeless car for sure!!!

I'm pretty sure the car will see some more print after the new owner is finished with it. If it's anything like John's other cars, it's going to be really nice.
  17. Congrats man! I'd be stoked too!
