  9. John and Bettina Gerritsen travel the European drag racing circuit with their Johnny "Brabant" Gerritsen Drag Racing Team. Weapon of choice is their beautiful '55 Chevy BelAir nicknamed "Double Trouble". John had me do a design for a vinyl wrap of their new trailer to make sure they turn heads wherever they go. Check out www.55BelAir.nl

This I made for "OZ", my old 1960 Cadillac:

The new owner didn't want to keep it, now it's hanging on the wall in my shop.

Love boxes. This is my HRM box.

    Helmet for a friend:

In germany a helmet is required for drag racing, there is no rule though what kind of helmet it has to be. Painted up an old US Army helmet. Fuck yeah.

This is a sketch I made for a friend who is currently building a jalopy bellytank racer/hot rod. This thing is not just a "someday" but it's being built right now, it will have an F-16 drop tank as a belly, a Cologne V6 (similar to the ones from Ford Explorer) with a one off intake, and four carbs, homemade frame with bits and pieces from an A, A front axle, a Ford P7 rearend, manual trans and tons of other bits and pieces.

That (both your sketch and the idea) is badass. You gotta get him to post it on here.

That got me thinking, I wonder how a Morgan 3-wheeler body would do for a rod...could be interesting.

Your other stuff's fantastic as well. Love the helmets.

First post here and up front, I'm not an artist, but I do appreciate all the artistic presentations posted here each week. I'm not even a hot rod guy as I own a Little British Car.

The reason for this note is to call to your attention the "Back to the Bricks" multi day car show in Flint this Summer. This year they are adding an art show to the events. Artists can obtain (for $50) a new (I believe. On TV they were bare metal.) car hood on which they can create their art. At the end of the show the hoods will be auctioned with the artist getting 50% of the sale, the rest goes toward bronze castings of leaders of the the auto industry from the early days of automobiles. From what I have seen of the artwork on this message board, some of you guys and gals ought to participate if you're in the neighborhood and have the time! Google "Back to the Bricks" for details.

This is as close as I get to art. An illuminated edge lit wind blocker for a British sports car - an Austin Healey Sprite. My build photos are here.

In the Wind Blocker album. Click on my name at the Picasa site to see my other car related picture albums. (My car, hot test stand, generator to alternator conversion, etc)

I enjoy your art each Friday. Thanks for the great show each week!
