I never would have thought it would be such a fucking pain in the ass to put a Ford motor in my Ford. I had to switch to a rear sump oil pan and make an adapter for the trans mount. IMG_20200725_181710.jpg
It's just sitting in there on a 2x4 and the trans mount right now, but the carb is dead level so I'll fab mounts for this position.

    It's low.
    Did I mention it's low?

I hope to get motor mounts fabbed up tomorrow so I can get back to laying out floor bracing and body mounts.

Might be low, but it does look right.

I got enough body mounts fabbed today to eliminate the post supporting the body, so I rolled it outside for a few pics.

Nice stance! It is really looking good. You have come so far. Can you turn the front wheels? They look so close in the pictures.

The fenders are just sitting on there right now. I may need to massage them a bit, I won't know for sure until I can bolt them on. Worst case scenario I have to radius them.

Do you need inner fenders? I have a set if you do. (they have holes for "fender well" headers)

After getting a trunk lid that hadn't been structurally compromised I found the rear quarter panels were nowhere near square to the frame. I started cutting and adjusting and finally said fuck it. We raced in Daytona last week, so on the way back we came through Charlotte and I bought a pair of quarters from Dennis Carpenter.
I started this build 10yrs ago, trying to fix or make everything because I was broke. That's not the case anymore.
I'll get the front of the body and roof braced and get the old panels cut off and new tacked in and fit the trunk lid and lower panel.

I have not posted on this thread but have been checking in from time to time. I am a pretty accomplished bodyman and can fabricate when I need to and am a pretty patient guy with my projects. I commend you because every time you come across an obstacle, you say...Oh well, I'll just do this or that. Nothing stands in your way to accomplish your goal. I'm impressed. I can;t think of a higher compliment to pay a hotrodder. The car looks great. Stay on it and I can't wait to see it done. Lippy:cool:

I Those new panels look beautiful! I sure could use those wheel wells on my current project. Will have to patch my originals though. Hope you show us how you install them.

  13. So glad this thread came back up. It shows how bad you want it and work hard you can have this. Keep up the great work.
