    Hey metalshapes,
    My notes place Tjaarda at Osi in 1966, having just left Pinin-
    farina. The Alfa Romeo Scarabeo, really just a rebody of a
    Giullia 1600 broke cover during that period.
    I don't beleve that Guigaro was involved with the styling, as once
    he left Bertone he was quickly workin' for Ghia. As a major player
    in Italian design, I'm not bettin' he did much "moonlighting" for other
    desigh houses.

    If I remember right, the Scarabeo had the Alfa ( all aluminum hemi head twincam )sideways behind the seats.
    I think they ran a chain between the engine & gearbox, to adapt the parts from the regular front engine/RWD layout.


    I found one site that says Francis Lombardi did his own design on the GP.
    ( but some of is other cars look really homely in comparison...)

    That pic above to me, looks like a Karman Ghia with the front and rear lines squared off.
