HUGE day today in Central Cali. The grandpa car actually runs!! I don't post much, so I don't expect anyone to remember me or my project, but the 51 Ford Club Coupe I inherited from my grandfather fired up today for the first time in at least 5 years. Lots of smiles from my wife, my father and me. Until the transmission fluid started pouring out on the driveway... Oh well, one step forward, one step back..... Now to drop the empty fuel tank, boil it out, seal it, reinstall, plumb up a transmission cooler or something so the fluid don't come out, sand, prime, paint, sew an interior, adust carburetor, timing, dwell, install an exhaust system, and everything else. Big day for us and the grandpa car!! dv
Great to hear you got her running! I like the gauges in the dash. A word of advice on the gas tank re-seal, watch those gas tank coatings some are not ethanol resistant and they will peel up and clog fuel lines. Marty McF.
