I've heard that different paint brands can sometimes have a negative reaction to each other. Is this true in the case of HOK and Omni?

  2. Never mix systems.......I think HOK is a unique formula anyway from standard finishes- you could get some bad reactions/results......also less quality on a clear is not good/its what gets the suns torture.

I've used that combo many times with no problems.

  4. thats like running firestone wide whites with chrome smoothies.

  5. get the premium omni gold the green stuff is crap espesially if you have to bolt items to it. Comes right off the paint stays the clear dont all my fender bolts did this on a set of harley fenders i did no problems with the gold though

Well I'm just going to use it on a set of tank and fender, for a bike project I have going on.
    thanks for the help.

  7. i would use ppg 2021 clear or the HOK brand clear. the clear is whats going to make your paint job last, why not spend a couple more bucks for the good stuff? cheap clear also has no business being on a motorcycle tank!

  8. OMNI gold is a new and improved product.
Mix is 4x1,instead of 4x2.(catylst is expensive)

Just had a bad reaction from green Omni clear, that had
sat for a while.Tons of fisheye on a hood I repaired,
and it kinded of churdle up on a mc tank. Was clearing
both with the same batch.Used silicon and wax cleaner first.
Resanded both and bought the Gold (was going to try Transtar
but they didn`t stock it) Anyway the Gold went on great.

    Never used HOK,I`m too cheap.

    JR...

    PS...How about those Marlins?
